Auto check does not match the correct vehicle

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

We pulled our own auto check on our own vehicle because we are selling it. We saw a service that was done to supposedly our vehicle which had the same Vin number.

So I called the place of service. They do not have our vehicle showing any record of any service. Whatever vehicle it was it had over 100,000 miles more than ours. So now it looks like we rolled back our odometer?

we did not have our vehicle service there and we did not have that number of miles on our odometer. So were trying to get it fixed and corrected. I called both their phone numbers at least 10 times today.

Did not even get a message machine to leave a message on. Auto check is very hard to get a hold of.

Inaccurate Reports

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

This report was so inaccurate that AutoCheck did not pick up on old and recent Recalls on the 2020-**** Jeep 4xe recalls. We have had and have major repair work done on our 4xe and yet the report came up stellar with zero issues...May have turn to Lemon Law...Best advice? Do not rely on AutoCheck nor CarFax don't seem to be reliable ...Research your vehicle, make and model for issues before buy and take advantage or National Recall sites...

Bad experience from Auto Check

I took my car for a steering wheel problem at Auto Check shop by 8.15am Sept 15, 2022. 816 pleasent hill Rd, Lilburn, GA.

one of the mechanic who working there, drove off with my car by 8.20am on that morning.

I was told to come back by 3pm to 4pm of that day.

I went back by 4.00pm my car was still out of the shop, I asked where is my car I was told my car will be back soon.

When my car came back about 4.35pm, that same mechanic who took my car out 8.20 am came back with my car by 4.35pm, with the wife and a kid of the owner of that shop Auto check.

They had my car all day running errands and when I took my keys back they told me nothing is wrong with my car.don

This is very annoying that you leave your car at a shop and the shop people use your car to do errands of their own, then said nothing is wrong with my car.

I can tell everyone to be aware of this shop, check their mileage when they leave their car. They use my car for their errands and their price for fixing my car is very expensive.

This is very unfortunate for consumers.

I need my complain to be heard.

They had my car all day out running their errands. Then said nothing is wrong with my car.

PROBLEM WITH VIN CHECK REPORT PULLING REPORT WITH OLD FORMER VEHICLE INFORMATION

Updated by user Jan 03, 2023

Have been unable to contact or speak with anyone at AutoCheck.

Original review Jan 03, 2023
I went to order a vehicle history report, put in my Credit Card information, and the report that was ran was on a vehicle we purchased over a year ago. It still charged me (again) for the report.

This is NOT the vehicle I need a history report on. Your LIVE CHAT is also not working and your phone number (888-888-****) will do nothing till I provide my full Socal Security Number. I guess your system defaulted to the VIN number of the last vehicle I did a report on well over a year ago. The information on the report is: Purchase Date: 01/03/2023
Order ID: 100000****2550
Subscription Type: Single Report
Your User Name: j.foxgrover@***.com
I don't know my former vehicle's VIN number since I no longer own the truck.

As such, I could not use the "Contact Us" question form AutoCheck provides. Would you please refund the $26.74 to my Visa card ending in 2928.

Thank you for your time and assistance. Jim F.

Trying to sell car on Ebay. AutoCheck is automatically added.

Car has low miles (37,500) and is a 2011 with no accidents.

Similar vehicles are given ratings in the 90's. Mine is getting a rating of 77.

Having trouble selling it as a result. Experian is no help.

Inaccurate car history reports; unresponsive customer support

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
Original review updated Aug 21, 2022

I purchased my 2007 car in 2012. It had been through an auction house as a bank repossession.

It was in excellent condition, had a clean Carfax, with no accidents or damage, and still does. I didn't know about AutoCheck at the time. I was recently shown an AutoCheck vehicle history report for my car, which reported it was in an accident in 2008 and structural frame damage was observed in 2011. I investigated this with police at the local, county, and state level where the accident was supposed to have occurred.

All three responded in writing that they had no records of such an accident. I then took the car to a manufacturer's authorized collision center for a frame inspection and they provided written certification that they found no frame damage or evidence of repairs. Also, I ran a total of 4 vehicle history reports. Only AutoCheck contains these records.

All the others report no accidents, no frame damage. After this investigation I contacted AutoCheck customer support to request corrections and provided them with written exhibits as evidence. (The first agent said not to bother sending anything as they wouldn't read it. The second agent requested the documentation file) Over the course of a month and four separate calls speaking with four different agents (they never once met their commitments to get back to me within 1-3 business days as promised) they finally provided an email with the cryptic response "the auction announcement has been verified and confirmed" and "the damage record listed in the report has been confirmed" with no further details or sources.

They also wrote "as a data repository, the source information may not be released as proprietary agreements protect it". I don't believe they have a quality control system. I don't think they investigated anything or even looked at my documentation (my evidence was compelling). I believe they simply went back to their database and confirmed the record was there.

Since they provided no details or sources, they can claim anything they want for any reason. Their "sources" in this case aren't official. I provided written evidence with official sources and details which they ignored. I have read numerous complaints about AutoCheck involving false or exaggerated data with similar customer support results.

I believe their business model thrives on false, exaggerated, and otherwise negative information to differentiate themselves in the vehicle information market. This drives business to them out of fear and intimidation. My opinion, based on my experience, is that AutoCheck vehicle history reports should be disregarded as inaccurate or exaggerated.

I think a class-action lawsuit against them is warranted. I also believe an investigation should be conducted to get to the bottom of their business operations and methods.

Totally agree. Autocheck is horrible.

I have a car I’m trusting to sell. Great condition. Autocheck is flagging it for a lien and mileage rollback.

There is no lien on my vehicle and no odometer issues. It’s really hampering my ability to sell the car.

Bad information

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

The Auto Check report had an error on it, CARFAX is 100% correct. Auto check stopped me from trading my car to CARVANA because of a "rollback" reported.

A complete lie. I take my Range Rover to the dealer for service, none of it is reported...Can't chat or contact Customer Service??? HORRIBLE.

CARVANA needs to stop using them!!!

I will file a dispute on my payment for their INACCURATE REPORT. I only bought it to see the error.
